Chapparal Metropolitan District Meurer & Associates developed Chapparal Metropolitan District’s systematic scheduled maintenance program for the water distribution system, storage, well pump stations and booster pump stations. The program consists of an Access based reporting system for each of the components within the system. The maintenance program provides the District’s maintenance contractor with a history and reporting process to maintain the system. Each individual valve, fire hydrant, blowoff, pump and motor, tank and pump station has a designated number with a checklist for field personnel. Noted repairs or problems are prioritized and recorded for scheduled maintenance and budget consideration. City of Fort Collins Meurer & Associates has been retained by the City of Fort Collins to perform ongoing quarterly grease trap inspections and follow-up inspections for approximately 160 grease traps in their utilities service area. Field personnel review the traps conditions, while educating the owners on the importance of best management practices and grease trap maintenance. Meurer & Associates’ approach to grease trap inspections includes communicating with the facility owners so that they are aware of the importance of keeping the trap in good working order and pumped at regular intervals. Castle Pines North Metropolitan District Meurer & Associates prepared the National Pollution Discharge and Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II stormwater permit for the Castle Pines North Metropolitan District. The permit includes action plans for each of the six Minimum Control Measures with detailed steps for the District employees to follow. In addition to assisting the District in administering the permit, Meurer & Associates wrote and filed the annual reports to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. As part of the program, Meurer & Associates has set up a maintenance program for all of the storm water detention ponds under the District’s control. Hillcrest Water and Sanitation District Meurer & Associates coordinated procuring a contractor to clean and video review the District’s approximate 22,000 feet of 8-inch sewer lines. After the contractor recorded the video, Meurer & Associates reviewed them to assess the system for pipe cracks, sags root intrusion, and other problems in the system that could impede the flow and cause backups. Line condition was input into a custom designed database developed by Meurer & Associates to allow easy retrieval of the video to compare with future observations. The video review identified that several line repairs were needed to maintain the system in optimal condition. South Arapahoe Sanitation District It is the philosophy of South Arapahoe Sanitation District to perform pro-active maintenance on the District’s infrastructure so that sanitary sewer problems are avoided or minimized and the system works in an efficient manner. Regularly scheduled video, jetting and root sawing programs are managed using a comprehensive database and AutoCad mapping system. As a result, South Arapahoe is able to identify areas where funds should be focused to address its aging facilities. |
