General Improvement District Plan Development

Meurer & Associates was responsible for developing the General Improvement District facilities plan, phasing schedule, and the identification of water and sewer infrastructure to serve approximately 51,000 people into the future. Water and wastewater facilities were determined for the area, which is located south and adjacent to the City of Brighton. A hydraulic computer model was performed for the area to identify water facility sizes as well as phasing.

Connection and Highline Canal Trails

Meurer & Associates performed the planning, design, and reconstruction of multiple bike and pedestrian trails for the City and County of Denver and Denver Parks Department. Planning efforts included route identification, cost estimating, and public meetings. Designs included new concrete, asphalt, and gravel trails with landscaping, fencing, railings, pedestrian bridges, and approach ramps. Coordination with various agencies and City departments, as well as businesses and residents along the trail routes, were key issues for each project.

Meurer & Associates provided design services for approximately 5,310 feet of 12-inch C-900 PVC water line, 905 feet of 16-inch C-905 PVC water line and 3,500 feet of 24-inch ductile iron water line. The water line was aligned along the existing streets, with three bores under York Street and one bore under Highway 7. Existing casings under E-470 were utilized in the design.
